So great! It would be great to see the originals to see the photos side-by-side the watercolors! Or did you really lose the camera?! 🙂
Erm, yeah. I really lost the camera. Oops.
You are FANTASTIC. Low-Commitment is a favorite. Thank you for the fun and delight.
Thank you!
Brittany–these are wonderful. Like best the Mi Jardin es Su Jardin (not!) the sloth and you, the birders (kay and cliff?) Might be a blessing to lose the camera once in a while
Thanks Nanci. Jim and Kathy–we loved them.
This kicks a lot of ass. 🙂
Hahaha, thanks.
These are lovely! I would never have remembered all those photos, I have a brain like a sieve. I heard about your blog from Frankie magazine, I’m glad you’re carrying it on this year 🙂
I kept backtracking to fill in photos I remembered later, so I bet you’d be the same way. It helped that I kept a trip journal.
I love Frankie and wish it was easier to get here.
Amazing how great things can come from bad accidents. I love your drawings. They seem more intimate than a mere photo.
You’re right–these turned out to be more special, and maybe even more like we remember our experiences than the photos.
This reminds me of the last story on this episode of Snap Judgment:

Wow, I just listened to that and it was such a sweet story. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening for us. It was a complicated situation that didn’t involve out-and-out theft but involved a non-return of the camera. But, on the bright side, I wouldn’t have painted the photos if I thought we might get them back.

Don’t know how I found your site…one thing leads to another when one is reading a blog and the next think you know the whole day has gone by! 🙂
I LOVE your watercolors. I am getting ready to go on a cruise and if I tried to do that too,
I’ll bet I pay more attention to EVERYTHING! Thanks for inspiring me.
I really, really enjoyed this page so much!
What is that critter in the tree???
Thanks for your fantastic comment. Yes, do paint your cruise photos. It’ll be great.
That’s a sloth, and I actually condensed about 50 sloth photos down to 5.
