This series of images shows a site-specific piece I created this fall at Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Rusty wire fencing covered six windows in the Old Barn, so I proposed a project of making wire illustrations to replace it.
Carl Djerassi, founder of the program, was one of the developers of oral contraceptive, “the pill.” Each wire drawing depicts a different style of birth control pill package.
Any making out in this barn shouldn’t result in a pregnancy.
Hahaha. You’re correct.
Wow. Hadn’t seen this’ til now – love it. I like the spider webby feel with modern message. Not sure if it’s a message exactly…. Modern(ish) medicine?
Thanks–I really wanted something less rustic to play off the rustic barn.
