Watercolor-on-paper diorama celebrating Tonya Harding’s 1991 skate at U.S. Nationals, where she became the first U.S. woman to complete a triple axel in competition and went on to win the championship. From left to right, the little Tonyas depict the set up to the triple axel, the jump, and the victorious “yessss” upon landing it.
The exterior of the diorama features a pattern based on Tonya’s skating costume from that U.S. Nationals competition and the back of the box represents the skirt of the outfit. The box measures 13″ wide, 6″ deep, and 9-3/4″ high.
